Vaginal Rejuvenation

Stay Young At Heart Inside And Out

Why should we care about Vaginal Health? Vaginal health is important to discuss and treat because 50% of post-menopausal women will experience symptoms of Vulvovaginal Atrophy (VVA), and only 36% of women will discuss these symptoms with their health care provider. Unlike hot flashes, VVA symptoms do not resolve over time but worsen. More and more women are experiencing symptoms of an aging vaginal wall and now with this simple, painless and effective treatment, we can help.

The physical and psychological symptoms of VVA include:

Vaginal dryness due to loss of moisture and poor lubrication: (55%)
Pain with intercourse (44%)
Vaginal burning and irritation (37%)
Tenderness (17%)
Negative effect on the enjoyment of sex (59-72%)
Negative impact on overall sexual health with a decreased sexual drive
Negative impact on the ability to be intimate (62%)
Negative impact on quality of life

Who is affected by VVA?
Post-menopausal women
Women on hormone therapy, such as tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors, for breast cancer. These therapies give women menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats and vaginal dryness.

How does it work?
We use the same laser technology we use to treat the aging face to treat the aging vagina. Fractional CO2 laser beams create small areas of injury to help rejuvenate and restore your vagina to a pre-menopausal state. Patients experienced less vaginal pain, dryness, and irritation, as well as a decreased risk of infection, an improvement in stress urinary incontinence and decreased pain with sex. 91% of patients were satisfied or very satisfied with the procedure and experienced considerable improvement in the quality of life with minimal discomfort with the procedure. 85% not sexually active because of VVA severity at baseline regained a normal sexual life at 12 weeks follow up

You will not feel the laser beam as it treats the vaginal wall. The only discomfort you may feel is short lived as we insert the laser into the vaginal canal.

The FEMTOUCH is a safe procedure in the hands of an experienced professional. It will not treat uterine, vaginal or bladder prolapse. IT should not be done if you have an active vaginal infection.

Prior to the treatment, we will discuss your symptoms to make sure you are a good candidate for the procedure. During the treatment, the laser will slowly be inserted into your vaginal canal. This is less uncomfortable than a speculum exam. During the laser treatment, you will not feel the laser.

Afterward, most people feel no pain and have no side effects. W will provide you with a pad in case you have experienced a slight discharge

You should notice an improvement in your vaginal health after the first treatment. We recommend 2-3 treatments depending on your personal results

Am I a candidate?
If you are a post-menopausal woman or a breast cancer survivor on long-term hormone therapy and are experiencing signs and symptoms of VVA including vaginal dryness, burning, irritation, pain with sex, and stress urinary incontinence you may be a candidate for vaginal rejuvenation.
