PATIENT TESTIMONIALS & STORIES
WHY AT MONA DERMATOLOGY?
At MONA Dermatology we understand the importance of entrusting your skin to a professional. We ensure that our staff are expertly trained in the latest each of our lasers and light based therapies. We have been using the Vbeam to treat skin concerns since 2007.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Our nurses will take your Visia picture to help track your progress at the beginning of each session. They will then apply a topical numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable.
Once ready for the treatment, they will place metal goggles on you to protect your eyes from the laser. During the treatment, you will see a bright light and feel a sharp rubber band snap on your skin.
Afterward, we will apply a cream to promote healing and a mineral based sunscreen to protect you from the sun. You will be slightly pink and have some swelling that can last 3-5 days. If we are treating cherry angiomas, hemangiomas or a port wine stain, you will have a purple eggplant bruise that can last up to a week. This will be discussed with you by our health care providers prior to your treatment.
VBEAM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW LONG WILL MY APPOINTMENT TAKE?
Most appointments take 15-30 minutes depending on the area we are treating. Our nurses will apply a topical numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable for you.
DOES VBEAM HURT?
The VBeam laser feels like a sharp rubber band snap with every pulse of the laser delivered to your skin. This sensation goes away very quickly and is tolerable.
IS VBEAM SAFE?
VBEAM is a safe treatment in the hands of an experienced professional. We recommend avoiding any laser treatment for at least 2 weeks before going into the sun and at least 2 weeks after having been in the sun.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
You will need anywhere from one to multiple treatments depending on what we are treating.
HOW LONG WILL MY RESULTS LAST?
Your results will depend on what we are treating. Cherry angiomas typically resolve, but you may develop new growths. If we are treating facial redness, blood vessels or rosacea, you may need maintenance treatments 1-2 times per year to prevent recurrence.
AM I A CANDIDATE?
If you have facial redness, telangiectasias (blood vessels), rosacea, hemangiomas or port wine stains, a VBEAM can be a very effective treatment.
HOW MUCH DOES VBEAM COST?
The cost of a VBEAM depends on the area that we treat and ranges from $100-$300 per treatment.
