Nitrous Oxide for Pain Management
Sit back and relax during your next treatment.
ProNox is an innovative analgesia system that involves the use of a patient-controlled, 50/50 combination of nitrous oxide and oxygen. This FDA-approved system blocks pain sensors and endorphins in the brain to help control pain and anxiety during your treatment.
Results are felt within 1-3 minutes and patients are safe to drive home just 5 minutes after treatment.
Your comfort is our priority
We are pleased to offer ProNox to help you relax during your treatment. There are over 5,000 ProNox systems worldwide, so you can be assured the system is proven safe and reliable. At Mona Dermatology, your provider will always be present when your ProNox is administered to ensure safety and effectiveness.
What to Expect
Your provider will prepare you for your treatment. We will explain how the ProNox system works and provide you with your one-time-use mouthpiece.
You begin self-administering your ProNox by inhaling normally through the mouthpiece and will start to feel its effects within 1-3 minutes. ProNox is not anesthesia and will not put you “to sleep” - it will just relax you. You can continue inhaling the ProNox as much or as little as you wish.
Once your treatment is over, you simply need to wait for 5-10 minutes for the ProNox to wear off before driving home.
