Cincinnati BBL Hero Treatments (Broadband Light)
The Hero BBL allows more customizable treatments, to more skin types, and larger treatment areas than traditional IPL or BBL.
Rejuvenate skin and target concerns such as sun damage, rosacea, spider veins, acne, fine lines, wrinkles, and skin tone.
- Minimal to no downtime
- Treat face and body
- Forever Young & Forever Clear treatments offer targeted solutions for anti-aging and acne concerns
What to Expect
Photos will be taken prior to your procedure to track your progress. A topical numbing cream will be applied for your comfort. Our experienced providers will discuss your areas of concern and create your treatment plan.
Once ready for the treatment, we will apply an ultrasound gel to your skin and place metal goggles over your eyes to protect them. During the treatment you will see a bright light and feel a slight stinging sensation similar to a rubber band snapping on your skin.
We will apply a cream to promote healing and a mineral-based sunscreen to protect you from the sun. You may be slightly pink or swollen for a couple of hours. Brown spots will pop up like brown pepper flakes and will fall off in a few days. You can apply makeup the day after your treatment.
BBL Hero Specialized Treatments
Is there downtime?
Most patients experience 0-3 days of downtime.
How long will my appointment take?
All treatments begin with our trained nurses taking your pictures. For some treatments, we will also apply a topical numbing for 20 minutes prior to your procedure beginning. Once the treatment begins, it will take about 20 minutes.
Does IPL hurt?
IPL treatments are not painful and feel like a rubber band snap with every pulse of light that is delivered to your skin. This sensation goes away very quickly and most people describe this as a very tolerable and not painful treatment.
Who is a candidate?
If you have brown spots, signs of sun damage, uneven skin tone, redness or rosacea, acne, spider veins, or fine lines and wrinkles, BBL may be a good treatment for you. It is a great maintenance treatment for improving and maintaining overall tone and texture. It is not, however, the right choice if you are darker skinned or have a tan. It is best to discuss this with one of our trained providers.
When will I see results?
Brown pigment will come up like black pepper flakes and fall off within 3-7 days. Your redness will fade over the next 2-4 weeks. You may resume activities immediately after the treatment, making this a true no-downtime procedure. We recommend 3-6 treatments spaced 1 month apart for the best results.
What is the difference between BBL Hero and traditional BBL or IPL?
We have offered Intense Pulse Light (IPL) at our office for many years, however the BBL Hero is an exciting addition as it allows us to offer more customizable treatments to more skin types and treat larger areas at one time. It also allows us to offer specialized treatments such as the Forever Young and Forever Clear.
